This Payment and Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing payment procedures, subscription billing, and refund policies for the AI-powered animal identification subscription services ("Services") provided by FaunaScan ("we", "us", or "our"). By subscribing to or using our Services, you ("you" or "user") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set forth below. We accept the following secure payment methods for subscription fees and related charges:
Major Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover
Debit Cards (with Visa or Mastercard logo)
Digital Wallets: PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay
Other regional payment methods as displayed during the checkout process
All payment information is encrypted and processed through secure third-party payment gateways that comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
Our Services are provided on a subscription basis, with available plans (e.g., Monthly, Annual) clearly displayed on the FaunaScan website. The subscription fee for each plan is as indicated at the time of your subscription, and it is subject to change with prior notice (we will notify you of any fee changes via email at least 30 days in advance).
Billing cycles vary by plan:
Monthly Plans: You will be charged the subscription fee on the same calendar day each month, starting from the date of your initial payment. If the billing date falls on a day that does not exist in a subsequent month (e.g., February 29), the charge will be processed on the last day of that month.
Annual Plans: You will be charged the annual subscription fee in a single lump sum at the time of sign-up, and subsequent renewals will occur on the same calendar day each year.
All subscription fees are quoted in USD, unless otherwise specified. You are responsible for any additional fees incurred, including but not limited to currency conversion fees, international transaction fees, or taxes imposed by your local jurisdiction.
All FaunaScan subscriptions are set to automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle, unless you cancel the subscription prior to the renewal date. We will send you a renewal reminder email at least 7 days before the scheduled renewal charge, which will include the amount to be charged and instructions on how to cancel if you no longer wish to continue the service.
We offer a 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee for new subscribers to FaunaScan. To be eligible for a full refund under this guarantee, you must:
Be a first-time subscriber (i.e., have not previously subscribed to FaunaScan).
Submit a refund request within 30 days of your initial subscription payment date.
Provide a brief explanation of the reason for your refund request (this helps us improve our Services).
Refunds are not available under the following circumstances:
Renewal charges (if you wish to cancel your subscription, you must do so before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next billing cycle).
Subscriptions that have been active for more than 30 days from the initial payment date.
Subscriptions that have been used to access premium features excessively (e.g., bulk animal identification requests exceeding 1,000 in the 30-day period), as determined by our system logs.
Instances of fraud, misuse, or violation of our Terms of Service.
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
Log in to your FaunaScan account.
Navigate to the "Account Settings" page and select "Billing & Subscriptions".
Click on "Request Refund" and complete the refund request form, including your subscription ID and the reason for the refund.
Alternatively, you can send a refund request via email to [email protected] with the subject line "FaunaScan Refund Request - [Your Subscription ID]".
We will review your refund request within 3 business days and send you an email notification to confirm whether your request has been approved or denied. If approved, the refund will be processed immediately.
Refund processing times vary depending on your payment method:
Credit/Debit Cards: Refunds typically appear in your account within 3-7 business days after processing. The exact timing may vary based on your card issuer's policies.
PayPal: Refunds are usually credited to your PayPal account within 1-3 business days.
Apple Pay/Google Pay: Refunds generally take 3-5 business days to reflect in your payment method.
Please note that we cannot expedite refund processing times, as they are dependent on third-party payment providers and financial institutions.
If you submit a refund request within the 30-day guarantee period, you will retain access to FaunaScan's Services until we process your refund. Once the refund is approved and processed, your subscription will be immediately canceled, and your access to the Services will be terminated.
You may cancel your FaunaScan subscription at any time. To cancel:
Log in to your FaunaScan account.
Go to "Account Settings" > "Billing & Subscriptions".
Click on "Cancel Subscription" and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your cancellation.
Cancellations take effect immediately, but you will continue to have access to the Services until the end of your current billing cycle. No partial refunds will be issued for unused portions of a billing cycle, except as provided in the 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.
If you cancel a subscription before the renewal date, you will not be charged for the next billing cycle. We recommend canceling at least 24 hours before the scheduled renewal to ensure the cancellation is processed in time.
If you believe there is an unauthorized charge or error in your billing statement, please contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of the charge date. We will investigate the issue and resolve it promptly, which may include issuing a refund or correcting the billing error.
We reserve the right to modify or update this Payment and Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
